स्थितप्रज्ञस्य का भाषा समाधिस्थस्य केशव। स्थितधीः किं प्रभाषेत किमासीत व्रजेत किम्॥ २.५४॥
हिंदी भावार्थ: अर्जुन ने कहा -- हे केशव समाधि में स्थित स्थिर बुद्धि वाले पुरुष का क्या लक्षण है स्थिर बुद्धि पुरुष कैसे बोलता है कैसे बैठता है कैसे चलता है
English Meaning: Arjuna said, "O Krishna, what is the description of one who has steady wisdom and is merged in the superconscious state? How does one of steady wisdom speak, how do they sit, and how do they walk?"
मृत्युः सर्वहरश्चाहमुद्भवश्च भविष्यताम्। कीर्तिः श्रीर्वाक्च नारीणां स्मृतिर्मेधा धृतिः क्षमा॥ १०.३४॥
हिंदी भावार्थ: मैं सर्वभक्षक मृत्यु और भविष्य में होने वालों की उत्पत्ति का कारण हूँ; स्त्रियों में कीर्ति, श्री, वाक (वाणी), स्मृति, मेधा, धृति और क्षमा हूँ।।
English Meaning: And I am the all-devouring Death, and the source of prosperity for those who are to be prosperous; among the feminine qualities, I am fame, prosperity, speech, memory, intelligence, firmness, and forgiveness.
अहिंसा सत्यमक्रोधस्त्यागः शान्तिरपैशुनम्।दया भूतेष्वलोलुप्त्वं मार्दवं ह्रीरचापलम्॥ १६.२॥
हिंदी भावार्थ: अहिंसा, सत्य, क्रोध का अभाव, त्याग, शान्ति, अपैशुनम् (किसी की निन्दा न करना), भूतमात्र के प्रति दया, अलोलुपता , मार्दव (कोमलता), लज्जा, अचंचलता।।
English Meaning: Harmlessness, truth, absence of anger, renunciation, peacefulness, absence of crookedness, compassion for beings, non-covetousness, gentleness, modesty, and absence of fickleness.
अनुद्वेगकरं वाक्यं सत्यं प्रियहितं च यत्।स्वाध्यायाभ्यसनं चैव वाङ्मयं तप उच्यते॥ १७.१५॥
हिंदी भावार्थ: जो वाक्य (भाषण) उद्वेग उत्पन्न करने वाला नहीं है, जो प्रिय, हितकारक और सत्य है तथा वेदों का स्वाध्याय अभ्यास वाङ्मय (वाणी का) तप कहलाता है।।
English Meaning: Speech that causes no excitement, is truthful, pleasant, and beneficial; the practice of studying the Vedas is called austerity of speech.
मुक्तसङ्गोऽनहंवादी धृत्युत्साहसमन्वितः।सिद्ध्यसिद्ध्योर्निर्विकारः कर्ता सात्त्विक उच्यते॥ १८.२६॥
हिंदी भावार्थ: जो कर्ता संगरहित, अहंमन्यता से रहित, धैर्य और उत्साह से युक्त एवं कार्य की सिद्धि (सफलता) और असिद्धि (विफलता) में निर्विकार रहता है, वह कर्ता सात्त्विक कहा जाता है।।
English Meaning: An agent who is free from attachment, non-egoistic, endowed with firmness and enthusiasm, and unaffected by success or failure, is considered to be of a Sattvic (pure) nature.
